Absolute truth cannot be changed or threatened. Truth needs no defense.
If this statement is true, then it must be recognized that everything in the realm of matter, the world of the physical—even the earth, planets, and stars—are in a sense not absolute truth. Matter changes. What doesn’t change is nothingness. What is true is therefore nothing, invisible, imperceptible. Truth lies in nothingness. This is the essence of spirituality.
Everything you care most about is invisible: love, health, inspiration, how you feel, happiness. We chase after the material, yet what matters to us is non-material.
All the great spiritual traditions teach us not to become attached. The reason for this is quite simple: becoming attached to that which changes is a mistake. If your identity becomes attached to possessions, status, a relationship, or anything else having to do with the physical realm, then you are becoming fixed upon that which will change. This is what is referred to as “building your house upon sand” and it is the source of suffering.
You are the soul, the essence, the spirit which is of course invisible. Your true identity is connected with empty space between the planets and stars: the nothingness. Nothingness cannot be studied, described, or understood by the mind—but when you awaken you will become aware of this other realm, the realm in which you perfect, complete, and eternal. We continue tomorrow and each day after that.
