What are the benefits of meditation?

Here’s a paradox: freedom requires structure. Without structure, you have no defenses against the world. You will be beaten down and defeated by a system that is designed to exploit you. If you would like peace, love, joy, health, happiness, and freedom in your life then you will need a daily practice. Meditation is essential.

By meditating at least once a day for at least 15-20 minutes, a crack will open and the light will begin to shine through. Meditation trains you to observe your mind, to shut it off for at least a few moments at a time, and to stop clinging to the external. Meditation is the practice of fully-being. You are fully-aware of nothing other than the present moment. You find out who you really are.

It doesn’t matter so much how you meditate. You might simply find a guided meditation online and go back to it every day. Find something you like, make it yours, and make it fit your life. Maybe this sounds exciting, but it isn’t. There won’t be any drastic changes at first, no fireworks, no breakthroughs, no revelations. But if you do it every day, then you will slowly awaken and your life will change. The drama will be gone. Life gets easier. You will find yourself in the flow.

You want to feel good. You want to be prosperous, successful, liked by others, and valued for who you are. You want a beautiful life filled with love, peace, and joy without the negative drama. So there are certain things that must be done each day. Eat well, get enough sleep, exercise, meditate, and connect with some type of spiritual content even if only for a few minutes each day. By connecting with your true identity each day, by growing stronger, getting healthier, and by a constant commitment to feeling good; you acquire the strength needed to access heaven on earth and live there. By neglecting a healthy structure, you allow the forces of the world to determine your reality. Your choice. We continue tomorrow and each day after that.
