Beyond all our doing, there is a balance to the way things are. Beyond our minds, there is a knowing in the flow of light and life. Beyond our words, there is a truth. Beyond our senses, there is a dimension of empty space from which everything comes and to which everything returns.
What we are pointing to is beyond that which can be grasped. It cannot be defined, cannot be proven, and needs nothing from us at all.
So we can relax. We can use the balance—following the path of least resistance and accepting everything as it is because it is. We can let things be and flow with the way things are.
Resistance is futile because, in every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The greater the action, the greater the reaction. Ignorance of this law is what causes all the man-made chaos of the world. In every independent action, nature reminds us of our ultimate powerlessness over form.
But when we align with this truth—which is beyond form and flows from the dimension of life and love—we allow the true power of being to effortlessly work through us. Here exists true power. I believe that this is what is meant by this beautiful verse from the Tao Te Ching. We continue tomorrow and each day after that.
