I said yesterday that the origin of all madness is trusting all thought. To understand what it would mean to trust every thought, consider the tragic example of a paranoid schizophrenic. A person suffering from this condition has no way of sorting out which thoughts are true and which thoughts are crazy.
People who are considered sane are those who pay attention to thoughts which are considered reasonable and ignore those that go too far. But what is the basis of this judgement? For most people, what is “normal” is considered sane and what is “not normal” is judged against. “Normal” has become the world’s morality – the world’s religion.
The problem is that “normal” is influenced by cultural forces. So those who believe in “normal” are significantly controlled by corporations, government, society, family and by the community.
People are constantly gossiping and listening to voices of authority – all just to figure out what this thing called “normal” is. Of course, there is no normal; only various groups who try to control you by defining it – all with conflicting messages and ideas. Here you end up only lost and confused.
There is a better way. Rather than trying to be normal, just try to be loving. Disregard all thoughts that are not loving because only love is sane. In love, you access all truth, all power, all wisdom and abundance. Have faith only in love, not in normal. Your spiritual practice is, therefore, only to find out what perfect love is. We continue tomorrow and each day after that.
